The Equi-Catch takes the effort out of gates for farmers, riders and walkers and people with disabilities, in fact anyone who has to open and close a gate. It's so easy, nobody has the excuse not to shut the gate! Designed by an agricultural engineer who had the misfortune of being restricted in a wheelchair for a number of years after an accident, the Equi-Catch is the ultimate in ease and convenience for every person that goes through a gate, whether they are on foot, in a wheelchair or on a horse. The Equi-Catch (patented) is made from stainless steel so it won't rust, corrode or wear out - no matter how extreme the weather. In fact, it should outlast the gate. The Equi-Catch challenges the traditional paradigm of gate catches as there is nothing attached to the gate - only to the gate post. It was developed to supply catches for disabled access as a means of complying with the Disability Discrimination Act, and has important safety factors when used with horses and other livestock as the gate also moves in the direction in which the animals are travelling. It's sad how much pleasure I can get out of a gate catch. If I've got my hands full, I flick the catch open with my shoe and kick the gate shut behind me confident that it's shut properly and the dogs aren't going to get out on to the road. It's so much easier than having to put things down to open the gate and then pick it all up to put it all down again to shut the gate during which time my dogs are trying to steal my shopping!
