Introducing a Gate Catch in perfect balance to make access to the environment easier for everyone.

There is a saying 'Build a better mouse trap and the world will beat a path to your door' but how do you know if you have a better mouse trap if you are never in the situation to use it?  We've built a better Gate Catch to make the path to your door more accessible.

Have you ever had to physically lift a gate in order to open it?  Have you ever been through a gate that you've had real difficulty closing behind you?  Have you ever got home from work and had to put down your laptop, briefcase and/or shopping in order to open the gate so that you could get to your front door - or do you just leave the gate permanently open to avoid the problem?

The National Trust use the Equi-Catch gate catch for gates on bridleways and footpaths.

The Equilibria Products Company Ltd (EPC) has developed a range of products to ensure that you never have to endure these experiences again.  By designing products in perfect balance, their gate catches allow the gate to open equally easily in either direction, and are closed simply by the gate being pushed shut.

International Show Jumper Graham Fletcher uses the Equi-Catch on his arena gate and his fields.

Designed by an agricultural engineer, the EPC products are patented and endorsed by the National Trust, Countryside Agency, and the Country Landowner and Rural Business Association.    Their products also help councils and public bodies meet the requirements of the Disability Discrimination Act.  'Opening a gate that has an awkward catch can be hard for many of us, but for anybody with a disability the difficulty can be insurmountable.  Walkers and wheelchair-users in the countryside often have to pass through a number of gates on pathways, so a straightforward and easy means of access is very welcome' (Elizabeth Edwards, The Oxford Times, 25/5/06).

There's no catch with an Equi-Catch. Graham Fletcher, International Show Jumper.

It's so simple, it's brilliant! Farmer, Norfolk.

It's so safe.  I've fitted the Equi-Catch to all the gates on my property.  Vet, Newbury.

Fantastic!  It makes opening and closing a gate from a wheelchair so much easier.  Counsellor, Oxfordshire.

It's so easy, nobody has an excuse not to shut the gate.  National Trust.

It's sad how much pleasure I can get out of a gate catch.  If I've got my hands full, I flick the catch open with my shoe and kick the gate shut behind me confident that it's shut properly and the dogs aren't going to get out on to the road.  It's so much easier than having to put things down to open the gate and then pick it all up to put it all down again to shut the gate during which time my dogs are trying to steal my shopping!  Denise Smith, Cambridgeshire.

The Paddock Gate looks great - much more pleasing on the eye than a five bar gate, and much safer for the horses.   Caroline Evans, Uffington.
